The thing

I was driving doing nothing on the shores of Great Salt Lake,
when they put it on the air, I put it in the hammer lane.
I soon forgot myself and I forgot about the brake.
I forgot about all laws and I forgot about the rain.
They were talking on the 9 and all across the army band,
across the road they were turning around and headed south with me..
It got so crowded on the road that I started driving in the sand,
my head was feeling scared but my heart was feeling free.
The desert turned to mud It seems that everybody heard.
Everybody was remembering to forget they had the chills.
And I heard the voices on a broadcast from up on the bird,
they were getting interviewed by some Goodman whose name was Bill.
I'm almost there to Vegas, where they're puttin' on a show.
They've come so far... I've lived this long,
At least, I must just go and say hello.







La cosa
Estaba conduciendo, sin hacer nada a las orillas del Greate Salt Lake*,
cuando la pusieron en el aire, yo me puse en el carril de alta.Pronto me olvidé de mi mismo y me olvidé del freno,
me olvide de las leyes y me olvidé acerca de la lluvia..
Ellos estaban hablando en el 9 y a través de toda la frecuencia del ejército
a través del camino estaban por ahí y se dirigían al sur conmigo..
Se llenó tanto la carretera que empecé a conducir en la arena,
mi mente estaba aterrada pero mi corazón se sentía libre.
El desierto se humedeció y parecía que todos escucharon.
Todo el mundo estaba recordando olvidarse que tenía miedo.
Y escuché las voces en una transmisión desde arriba, de un ave,
estaban siendo entrevistados por algún señor que se llamaba Bill.
Casi estoy ahí, en las Vegas, dónde están montando un espectáculo.
Han venido tan lejos..
Yo he vivido hasta ahora,
al menos, debería ir y decir hola.

*Habla sobre un avistamiento de un ovni.

*The Great Salt Lake es un lago salado en ubicado al norte de Estados Unidos, en el estado de Utha. Es famoso por su alta salinidad, además de ser el hábitat de una gran variedad de especies de aves.
